Lookin' douchey, soundin' good
One immensely cool event happening this evening is the annual Connor Senn Memorial Match, which pits the Columbus Crew against the Ohio State men's soccer team. (Hey, finally an opponent the Crew can beat!) Your $5 admission goes to the Connor Senn Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of Senn, a promising freshman defender who died on the field for the Buckeyes in 2001. The game is at 7 p.m. tonight at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Read more in my feature from last week's paper.
Musically, the event of this Cinco de Mayo is The Killers at LC Pavilion, 405 Neil Ave. They charged way too much for tickets ($42.50?!), yet they sold out anyway. I recently gave up being a hater and decided I quite like these guys, dumb lyrics be damned, so I'm going to take advantage of my journalistic privilege and check it out. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Chairlift, who I'm still on the fence about, opens the show.
