I'm taking today off, so there will be no What To Do Wednesday, Lunch Break Links or Local Love. Before I sign off, a couple notes:

(1) If you can get to a TV at 2:25 p.m., join me in watching the U.S.-Spain match in the FIFA Confederations Cup. ESPN calls it "simply a must-see for every self-respecting U.S. soccer fan in this country," and even though they're the network that's showing this game, they're right! I have embedded highlights from the States' shocking 3-0 win over Egypt to get you psyched. (No clue why they put Clint Dempsey's goal before Michael Bradley's goal, but whatever.)

(2) Remember, Thursday night at Circus, 1227 N. High St., Alive is hosting our annual Alive Amplified CD release party. We'll be celebrating the free hand-picked local music compilation with a free concert featuring Sinatra, Karate Coyote and Day Creeper. 9 p.m. start. Don't sleep on it.
