Your best bet for Monday night is the spectacular A.A. Bondy at The Basement, 391 Neil Ave. I saw the Alabama-bred country balladeer yesterday at Bonnaroo — expect a report on Saturday and Sunday's festival action by tonight* — and I was as impressed as ever by Bondy's ability to wring new life out of endlessly recycled Southern folk tropes. I usually don't worry about which musicians are "authentic," but it's hard not to be affected by how much of Bondy's soul seems to be woven into these songs. Holly Miranda will open the show, which costs $10. Doors open at 7 p.m.
*Update: Uhhhh.... make that "later this week."
