Miniature Tigers is a pleasant little pop band from Arizona that will be entertaining the patrons of The Basement, 391 Neil Ave., tonight. Their single "Cannibal Queen" features some slick Of Montreal-style harmonization and a sick organ solo. Doors open at 7 p.m. for this $10 show, which also features the stylings of This Is My Suitcase and Blastronauts frontman James Allison. This should be solid; dare I call it swell?
Also, Couch Forts continue their Tuesday residency at The Treehouse, 887 Chambers Rd., by welcoming Decemberists associate Laura Gibson and her Portland bretheren Musee Mecanique. 10 p.m., $5. This show may actually be more precious than the This Is My Suitcase show, so that's quite the feat. Both gigs get the seal of approval.
