Several sous chefs from local restaurants were recently named Certified Sous Chefs by the American Culinary Federation. They are:
Tyler Armentrout, an apprentice at Roger Blackwell Inn and Hotel Katherine Fuller, an apprentice at Bon Vie Sophia Harris, a cook at First Community Village - Dining Services Ryan Mihely, a sous chef at Basi Italia Steven Moorehead, an apprentice at Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse Patrick O'Brien, an apprentice at M Heather Tayse, an apprentice at M Josue Tirado, a line cook at the Ohio State Faculty Club Brandon Wolfe, a sous chef at Muirfield Country Club
To become a Certified Sous Chef, candidates have to pass a written and practical evaluation, plus complete coursework in food safety, nutrition and supervisory management.
