Poor Small Black. The gauzy, bleary-eyed synth pop act is headlining the tour that comes to The Summit, 2210 Summit St., tonight, but all I've heard anybody talking about is opening act Beach Fossils. I'm certainly more psyched to hear the likes of "Daydream" and "Vacation" from the night's first performer.
We might have the makings of a smaller-scale version of the 2005 tour that found blog darling Clap Your Hands Say Yeah outshining headliners The National, with fans staging a mass exodus after the opening act. (Seems funny in retrospect since CYHSY has become little more than an indie artifact and The National has ascended to become one of the genre's most enduring favorites.) Anyhow, both of tonight's bands are worth your $8. Show starts at 9 p.m.
