Why would AMC choose to debut the fourth season of "Breaking Bad" in late summer 2011 and make us wait over a year to get our Heisenberg fix?
Do they want Jon Hamm ("Mad Men") to win an Emmy so badly that they'd push the premiere date back and get three-time winner Bryan Cranston out of the running? Are they just jerks? Have they been smoking Walter White's blue meth?
Or, does AMC want to give "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan and his team of writers some extra time to hash out what will be a monumental fourth season after the climatic finish to the third?
It's probably the last reason, but I like the Jon Hamm conspiracy theory. Anyway, in the meantime AMC will replay every episode (seasons 1-3) on Wednesday night/Thursday morning.
Starting next week AMC will air back-to-back episodes at 12:30 a.m. until March. At that time of night, on a school night and all, it would be best to DVR the episodes and watch them later. Also, there's not a specific timeslot because they will air after the late night movie so keep an eye on any changes.
Kudos to AMC. This is a great way to catch up on the best show on television, especially since there's no release date for the Season 3 DVD. If you've never seen "Breaking Bad" check out the fan-made trailer below. It's not bad...even with the Phil Collins.
