Each December, Pantone picks a color for the new year. They recently announced the hue for 2011: Honeysuckle. Since "honeysuckle" doesn't automatically conjure a recognizable image of the chosen (at least not from this particular seat in the peanut gallery), just imagine a reddish-pink concoction.
According to Pantone, 2010's official color of turquoise was to help instill a mood of escape from the troubles of a bad economy and pitiful unemployment rate. By contrast, the honeysuckle represents confidence and courage "to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life."
