I like This Is My Suitcase. Been likin' 'em for a while. And I certainly like what they've done here.
"Four, The Birds" is not a radical departure for Joe Camerlengo and co., but it does continue the more immediate and raw approach he adopted for last year's solo joint rather than stick with the intense micromanagement of "The Keys to Cat Heaven".
You get a gnarly garage rock reworking of the ever-evolving "Me and You", a fittingly irreverent but still poignant cover of "These Days" (I'll take Jackson Browne, though) and two bird-related tracks in step with this band's tradition of spastic grandeur. Have a listen, won't you?
