The midfielder agrees to multi-year deal.
Some good news for Columbus Crew fans: As predicted, veteran midfielder Eddie Gaven (who I was going to describe as "stalwart" until I saw they used that word in the press release) signed a deal to keep wearing yellow soccer uniforms for the foreseeable future. "Per club and league policy, no further terms of the deal were disclosed." They didn't even release the length of the contract. Why the Cold War levels of secrecy, MLS? For further reading, check my Gaven feature from earlier this year.
Also, the Crew will participate in a preseason tournament called the Carolina Challenge Cup with historic rivals D.C. United and the Chicago Fire plus the Charleston Battery of the USL PRO league.
