Wouldn't be surprised to see either of these shows sell out fast.
Wouldn't be surprised to see either of these shows sell out fast:
Ohio sons The National will return to LC Pavilion's outdoor stage on Saturday, June 15 in support of a new, as yet untitled LP coming this May. This is apparently part of a larger, Wexner Center-affiliated event called Next @ Wex Fest.Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for the price of $25 ($32.85 after fees). I'd be sure to nab a ticket; although The National is more of an indoor band, they were in fiery form last fall at the Newport.
Also making their return to Columbus: black metal-infused Norwegian rock-'n'-rollers Kvelertak, whose upcoming album Meir promises to be one of 2013's most exhilarating listens. I missed their previous gigs at Cafe Bourbon Street and opening for Converge at Skully's, but I'm pumped to catch them at Ace of Cups on Thursday, April 25 with Cancer Bats and Black Tusk. Tickets for that one also go on sale Friday at 10 a.m., and they cost $12. Starwood Presents continues to attract the heavyweights to Columbus.
