Park Street Cantina added the Whiskey Bar, and is claiming to be the largest whiskey library in Ohio. The library spans about 300 brands of whiskey, including rare finds from around the world. The Cantina will begin hosting weekly whiskey tastings and feature a different whiskey each month.
A partnership between chef and butcher Dan Kraus (That Food Truck), baker Matt Swint (Matija Breads), and pastry chef Jackson Roecker (of Pistacia Vera and That Food Truck) has just begun construction on Baba's, a restaurant at 2515 Summit St., at the top of the University District at Hudson Ave. (close to Rumba Café and Wild Goose Creative).
The New York Times declared sours the most recent trend in beer. So if you want to stay trendy, Yellow Brick Pizza is giving you an opportunity to sample 20 sours during the month of November in conjunction with their fifth anniversary. They're serving a range of sours on tap and in the bottle, with weekend specials and contests.
The Crafty Pint in Linworth has added a lunch menu served weekdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The menu includes a selection of salads, burgers, tacos, and sharable items like honey bourbon wings and hand-rolled soft pretzels. Lunch items are paired with half-price beer drafts and jalapeno margaritas.
Zauber Brewing Co. is hosting a Dia de Meurtos celebration on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 3-9 p.m. The party features Zauber's brews alongside those of Elevator and Four String breweries, plus live music and food trucks Teodora's Kitchen and Yabo's Tacos.
The Columbus Growing Collective launched a new urban farm on North Fourth Street in Italian Village. The two-acre plot has been designed, cleared and planted; expect to see more workshops and community events in the coming months.
