Grab a stein and drink up, Columbus. The city's latest beer hall is here at last.
Grandview's Hofbrauhaus restaurant and brewery opens today at Grandview Yard. Dispatch file photo.
Prost! After a brief delay, Hofbrauhaus Columbus opens today at Grandview Yard.
The Columbus restaurant and brewery joins nearby locations in Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Newport, Kentucky.
The brewery side features four flagship German brews: a premium lager, a light lager, a dunkel, and a hefeweizen. A specialty beer will get tapped the first Tuesday of the month, with upcoming brews like a dunkelweizen in November and a weihnachtsbier in December.
Beers are complemented by a Bavarian-focused menu of pretzels, potato pancakes, sauerkraut balls and plates of wurst and schnitzel.
The expansive facility boasts seating for patrons in the bier hall, at the bar, in private booths or in second floor dining rooms, and an outdoor bier garden will open in the spring.
Columbus beer drinkers are ready: Hofbrauhaus' Stein Masters program sold out of its 150 memberships in about two hours.
