Cincinnati's MadTree Brewing began distributing its canned beer in Columbus this week. Its beers have been available on tap over the past six months, co-founder Brady Duncan said, selling well at spots like The Crest Gastropub, Matt the Miller's Tavern and World of Beer.
The latest move includes ramping up keg distribution and offering its four signature beers in cans in Columbus. The four canned brews are their Lift kolsch, Happy Amber, Gnarly Brown and PsycHOPathy IPA. Duncan said the brewery hopes to start distributing more of its seasonal brews in the first half of 2015.
Fans of MadTree, or anyone interested in getting to know its beers, can attend a variety of tasting events around Columbus:
From 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 you can taste its four flagship beers at The Barrel & Bottle at North Market. MadTree's "Global Can'bassador" Adam Pratt and Sam Pierson from Cavalier Distributing will be on hand.
At 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, Duncan and Pratt will be at The Pint House in the Short North for a MadTree tap takeover. Pint House will feature 10 MadTree brews; in addition to the four signatures, attendees can sample beers like the Axis Mundi super stout, Great PumpCan pumpkin ale and Galaxy High imperial IPA.
