Condado Tacos in the Short North begins serving brunch this weekend. Regular brunch hours will run 12-3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
The new brunch menu features a handful of pre-made brunch items, all following the established Day of the Dead taqueria theme. Menu highlights include the Chicken and Waffles Taco with fried chicken, scrambled eggs and poblano-maple syrup in a housemade waffle shell, the Sweet Potato Pork Belly Hash Taco (no explanation needed there) and the Huevos Rancheros Taco with eggs, black beans, queso, cilantro and ranchero sauce.
It's not all tacos, though. Condado's brunch also includes the Biscuits and Gravy Bowl with house-made cheddar biscuits covered with chorizo gravy and a fried egg.
Brunch is supplemented by Bloody Marys and specialty Bloody Marias made with tequila and garnished with cheddar, hot peppers, pickles and bacon on a stick. The regular menu of appetizers and build-your-own tacos is available during brunch hours, too.
Condado is located at 1227 N. High St., in the former Circus Bar space. The taqueria is owned by Joe Kahn, who opened Barros Tacos in Cleveland in 2012. He sold the business to his partners and opened up Condado in Columbus in late November last year.
