Ex Hex at Double Happiness

The end of indie-rock supergroup Wild Flag hasn't been such a bad thing for music fans. While Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss have brought back Sleater-Kinney (who come to Columbus in December), Mary Timony has turned her attention to Ex Hex, who are sure to pack a sweaty Double Happiness tonight. Get there early for a good view.

Have your Cake and Matt & Kim too at Day 1 of CD102.5's Summer Festival. Groove the night away downtown with MoJoFlo at Columbus Commons. Enjoy some grungy pop from across the pond with Happyness at Ace of Cups. Get hysterical with Reefer Madness: The Musical at AXIS. Check out Angela Meleca Gallery's first group exhibition.

Lunch at Izzy and Mo's

The anticipation has been high for Izzy and Mo's Luncheonette, the long-in-the-works take on a Jewish deli from Till chef Magdiale Wolmark. As G.A. Benton's review indicates, it was worth the wait.

Dance with the devil in the pale moonlight as the Downtown Drive-In at North Market presents Tim Burton's 1989 "Batman". Celebrate the delicious return of Freshstreet (for this weekend) with the Freshstreet Backyard BBQ and more at the Commissary. Party for a good cause at Block Party (614) at Strongwater Food & Spirits. Ham (and beer) it up at Christmas Eve in July at Actual Brewing. Get triple-heavy with Bardus/Lo-Pan/Bridesmaid at Spacebar. Have a sweet summer hang with Envelope, Donny & Jacoti and Sega Genesis at Ace of Cups. Get a real reggae fix with Freddie McGregor at Alrosa Villa. Say it ain't so with Weezer at Day 2 of CD102.5's Summer Festival. Don't eat after midnight with "Gremlins" on the big screen at COSI.

Killumbus Horror meetup at the Gateway Film Center

Bridget Oliver turned her newfound love of gory horror flicks into a Facebook discussion group. Now Bridget and her fellow gorehounds meet up in real life, too. This Saturday, they'll be chatting before an indie horror double-feature of "found." and "Headless."

Be there from the start for the inaugural 2x2 Hip Hop Fest at Rice Paddy Motorcycles. Get frank with Baton Rouge rapper Kevin Gates at the Newport. Get Midwest Fresh as the party moves to its new digs at MINT. Dance like it's Prohibition (only with a full bar) at SWANK at the Garden Theater. Get spinning with Funkdefy! Vinyl Dance Party at Bossy Grrls.

Day 3 of CD102.5's Summer Festival

After two days of bigger names, CD102.5's Summer Festival's third day boasts a great slate of national up-and-comers (FIDLAR, Cayucas, Joywave, Bully, Genevieve) for a ridiculous $5 ticket, but we're just as excited to finally see local band Digisaurus, the slinky new pop-rock project from James Allison (The Town Monster, The Regrettes).

Pop in for a killer pop-up brunch at Warmth at Ace of Cups. Put on the Ritz with a comedy classic and see CAPA's Summer Movie Series presentation of "Young Frankenstein." Beat it at the Gathering of 1,000 Drummers at Whetstone Park of Roses.
