Legendary hip-hop trio De La Soul recently announced it would be performing a free concert at Express Live on Friday, Oct. 28.
The concert, designed to drive early voting efforts, is being put on by Global Citizen as part of its ongoing "Show Up and Vote" campaign.
"As we have seen around the world, non-participation in theelectoral process represents a serious threat to the notion of citizenship at home and abroad. Global Citizen is excited to get out and mobilize young people in key states to use their voice," said Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans in a press release announcing the concert.
Other performers include D.R.A.M., Chord Overstreet, Nick D' & the Believers and the Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center Band. But the highlight is certainly the appearance by De La Soul, the inventive and still-vital trio that debuted in 1989 with the landmark 3 Feet High and Rising and proved itself to still be in fighting form on its ninth long-player,and the Anonymous Nobody..., which surfaced earlier this year.
Doors open at 2 p.m. for the all-ages show.
