Au Revoir Simone to appear at Wex This alluring trio of lovely young women [MySpace] have crafted a new album, The Bird of Music, which currently is available overseas. (Review pending.) They are on an extensive tour that will bring them to the Wexner Center May 7. With more delicate songs of love and longing, the upcoming appearance should be even better than their show last year at Little Brother's. Read my profile here.

Can to release entire catalogue digitally Got word from Mute Records that the groundbreaking recordings of Can, genius brainchild of Holger Czukay and Irmin Schmidt, will be released digitally on March 13.

Because the band worked dilligently to destroy the boundaries between genres, artists as diverse as Brian Eno and Mark E. Smith have cited them as influences. Now, with a remastered collection primed for digital distribution, even more bands will be influenced by them (a very good thing). www.mute.com

Victory Records to release new streaming media player Victory Records, home to Atreyu and Hawthorne Heights, has released a new streaming media player that allows users to hear and see much from the expansive stable of artists.

"VictorStream epitomizes and encapsulates Victory’s history of being on the forefront of virally motivated, direct to consumer marketing and promotion," said Tony Brummel, Victory’s Founder. "We are constantly seeking out new ways to showcase our fantastic artists by continually embracing and pushing the boundaries of new technology."

Many labels have such a feature, but what's cool about this one is that people can access the source code of the player and embed it into their personal blogs, MySpace pages and other web-based sites.
