The resurgence of knitting during the last several years can be attributed to a host of reasons. The craft is beloved for its endless creative options, and also as a reclamation of traditional "women's work." Plus, it's just plain fun. If you've been putting off learning to knit, head up to Graceland this Saturday for Knitters Mercantile's Learn to Knit Day. During the latest in a series of workshops hosted by the collective, knitters of all levels will learn the basics in an instructor-led class. The informal afternoon course will cover everything from needed tools to projects you can do at home. A $25 fee will cover required materials, and participants are encouraged to stay as long as they'd like.
