Try a few outdoor adventures before dissing what Ohio has to offer
As an outdoors lover, I don't leave Ohio much. Sure, over the years, I've paddled into 12-foot swells at San Diego's Black's Beach, snorkeled the Mesoamerican Reef and canoed through the Canadian outback. Mostly, though, I like it right here.
Why? Because Ohio is the intermediate day-trip capital of the world.
Some see the state as being tame and, therefore, lame. I see it as forgiving and, therefore, inviting. Ohio is a place where you can try a lot of different hobbies without breaking the bank or your back - an affordable training camp for outdoor adventures.
In the links to the right, you'll learn about three of them. None will require much gear, cost more than $100 or potentially kill you.
More often than not, that's my kind of weekend.
