This included the two remaining locations in Clintonville and Upper Arlington (Gahanna and downtown locations closed earlier in 2014). The locations had previously been Caribou Coffee shops, which Peet's bought out and rebranded over a year ago.

For its official grand opening week, The Chintz Room is bringing back some Lazarus traditions. This Saturday they’ll host Breakfast With Santa from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Santa on hand to meet all the kiddos. They’ve also recreated some past Lazarus window displays along High St., and hosted a party for former employees of Lazarus and the Chintz Room.

The Greener Grocer in North Market is closing on Dec. 31. Owner Michael Jones is moving on to head up Good Food Enterprises, an organization that seeks to partner and invest in businesses focused on responsible food supplies. North Market is expected to announce the new tenant in early January.

Lifestyle Communities has opened The Goat at 4115 Britton Parkway in Hilliard, joining locations in Dublin, Gahanna and New Albany. Attached to one of their communities, The Goat features an American menu of burgers, pizzas, wings, as well as craft beers and weekend brunch.

Tickets to Smokehouse Brewing’s 16th annual Robert Burns Beer Dinner are going fast. The dinner is held at the brewpub on Jan. 24 in honor of the famous Scottish poet, whose poems include “Auld Lang Syne”. Tickets are available through the brewery’s website; the evening includes recitals of Burns’ poetry, a four-course Scottish-inspired dinner, tastings of single malt scotches, tapping a firkin of the Robert Burns Scottish Export Ale and live bagpipe and drum music.

Following the success of its Jailhouse: Rock kitchen takeover in Little Rock Bar, Paddy Wagon food truck opened the Jailhouse Cafe in Scarlet in Gray Cafe on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Two new restaurants in Short North have been announced. Hyde Park has shared it’s opening a new restaurant concept in the old Cup O’ Joe space on the 670 Cap. And the owners of The Pint House announced Forno Kitchen + Bar at 721 N. High St., opening in January.

Bel Lago Waterfront Restaurant in Westerville has closed; new owners will open a new concept following a few months of renovations.

Boulevard Brewing Company will begin distributing to Ohio in January. The Kansas City brewery will offer several regular releases like the 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer, Unfiltered Wheat Beer, Pop-Up IPA, as well as specialties like the Take 7 Farmhouse Ale, part of their Smokestack Series.

This Saturday, Dec. 20 is the darkest night of the year, and Zauber Brewing Company is helping you get through by tapping its winter seasonal Ominous. Built with a Belgian dark ale backbone, Ominous runs at about 9% ABV with a bittersweet mix of dark fruit and toasted grains.
