The Clintonville Co-op announced the reopening of its kitchen and deli with a menu created by Chef Dustin Brafford, most recently of The Crest and The Crafty Pint. Brafford is transitioning to a new job in Denver, but said he wanted to commit the time to the Co-op before he leaves.

Starting last week, Kolache Republic began offering a Turn Up The Heat menu, in which a different spicy kolache is featured every Saturday over six weeks. Last week’s feature was a chorizo and southwest mac and cheese kolache, while this Saturday, Feb. 7, Kolache is serving Caribbean jerk chicken with plantains and rice. A southwest vegetarian breakfast kolache was also added to the everyday menu.

Who’s up for carrot cake? How about carrot cake stout? The Daily Growler, North High Brewing and Sweet Carrot Casual Cuisine are collaborating on a Carrot Cake Milk Stout to be featured on Thursday, Feb. 12. Sweet Carrot’s carrot cake recipe served as the inspiration for the brew. It will be tapped at 6 p.m. at both Daily Growler locations. And, yes, there will be actual carrot cake on hand, too.

The food cart Sophie’s Gourmet Pierogi launched an Indigogo campaign last week to outfit a new production kitchen and add a food truck. The campaign runs through March 12 and has already reached 13 percent of the $20,000 goal. Contributor rewards include Sophie’s swag, free pierogi for the year and private parties.

The new Sunny Street Cafe in Upper Arlington is now open at 4733 Reed Rd. Another new location in Blacklick is scheduled to open in the coming months.

Northstar Cafe announced it’s holding off on plans to build a new restaurant and offices in Upper Arlington. The business plans to focus its efforts instead on the build-out of its new Westerville location, which is scheduled to open later this year.

Village Crepe in Pickerington announced it will be closing its doors on Sunday, March 1.

Although no formal opening dates have been announced, Till Dynamic Fare shared photos of the progress of their adjoining bakery and luncheonette Izzy and Mo’s.

Hills Market and Seventh Son Brewery are hosting a beer pairing dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5. Tickets must be purchased in advance. The night features a five-course meal; each dish is paired with a Seventh Son brew.
