Glass has a place in everyday life, but all of its uses since its invention some 6,000 years ago are likely given little thought.

From perfume bottles to windows to technology, glass has proved itself to be a functional material and capable of redefining its purpose. “Useful Uselessness” is a collection of art from seven undergraduate students from The Ohio State University’s Glass Department.

Through this collection, the students explored the theme of utility through the lenses of the “Prototype,” “Prop” and “Prosthetic.”
