"Sometimes I'm scared that I won't wake up," the big-voiced Bethany Cosentino sings on the dreamy "Sleep Won't Ever Come" - a far cry from the band's carefree 2010 debut where she dwelled on things like teenage crushes and the various ways life would be different if her cat could talk. Though the lyrical themes are weightier this time around, the music maintains its buoyancy, blending elements 1960s girl-group pop, languid surf rock and, on "Wasted Time," spectral shoegaze.

Nashville sluggers Bully open the show.
