This Thursday, Aug. 6 is National IPA Day! Columbus breweries are celebrating with a variety of special beer releases, keg tappings and the like. Zauber Brewing is offering liter specials on their Berzerker Belgian IPA and they're tapping a small batch of Harvest Kolsch, hopped with Cascade hops grown by Grandpop's Hops in Marysville. Smokehouse Brewing will celebrate Hop-IPA-Looza, with about 10 IPAs on tap, plus a special IPA float made with Scottish ale ice cream and their summer IPA.

Last weekend Mill St. Distillery in Utica launched their bourbon. Mill St. has previously made a name for itself distilling a moonshine and a grappa. Bottles of the bourbon are available at their distillery in Utica, and will be available at area liquor stores within a couple weeks.

Canal Wigwam in Canal Winchester re-opened last weekend after being closed for eight months of renovations. The restaurant was damaged by an electrical fire in their building.

Wycliff's Kitchen announced they will be temporarily closed in order to transition to focus solely on a Kenyan menu. Previously the restaurant, located at 2492 Home Acre Dr., served a combined Indian and Kenyan menu. The eatery will re-open on Monday, Aug. 17.

Anthony Dee has taken over as new executive chef at Ella restaurant in New Albany.

World of Beer Easton has added a food menu featuring items like pretzels, tacos and burgers.

The Herb'n Cafe opened recently at 1252 Hill Road North in Pickerington. With a focus on cage-free, non-modified foods, they feature a menu of coffee, pastries, sandwiches, salads, burgers and more.
