Four artists - Lori Esposito (who curated the exhibit), Siavash Tohidi, Daisie Hoitsma and Duane McDiamid - each present distinctive perspectives on the role of the meditative in EASE Gallery's current showcase. Each artist uses traditional, performative and digital medias to explore the Eastern philosophy and practice in the modern environment. By situating themselves in diverse settings and surroundings - from rural landscapes to derelict buildings - the artists study how this transition affects both the contemplative nature of mediation and the resulting art.
