Chef Henry Butcher of Creole Kitchen announced his long-in-the-works sit-down restaurant will open sometime this September. The cajun and creole restaurant – one of the first authentic ones in Columbus – has long operated solely as a carryout at 1052 Mt. Vernon Ave. in the King-Lincoln District.

In case you missed it, Explorers Club food truck is taking up permanent residence in the kitchen of Zauber Brewing. Explorers Club closed their brick-and-mortar location at the end of June in order to focus exclusively on the food truck and catering business. Officially titled Explorers Club Kitchen at Zauber Brewing Company, the brewery kitchen will serve old favorites like the mofongo and grilled meatloaf sandwich alongside Bavarian-themed items like pretzels and beer brats with potato salad. Zauber will still occasionally host other food trucks, such as Paddy Wagon on Thursdays, when the kitchen will be closed. The Explorers Club Kitchen will officially open Saturday, Sept. 5 and add lunch service on Sept. 15.

Ill Mannered Brewing in Powell announced they are officially opening Friday, Sept. 4, at 5 p.m. At opening, they plan to have five beers on tap: a blonde ale, a Belgian rye, an IPA, a West Coast amber ale and a breakfast stout. Once open, their regular hours will be Wednesdays through Fridays, 5-10 p.m., and Saturdays from noon to 8 p.m.

This Saturday, Aug. 22, is the Summer Session, hosted by the Grandview Craft Beer Alliance. The outdoor beer tasting focuses on session beers (roughly 5 percent alcohol by volume or lower) served by central Ohio breweries. The event also features live music and food from ManBQue, Por'Ketta, Matt the Miller's Tavern, Rime Time Pops and more.

The Sunday, Aug. 23 Brothers Drake Mead releases three new coffee meads made with One Line Coffee, Boston Stoker Coffee and Rising Star Coffee out of Cleveland. Beginning at 11 a.m. the coffee meads will be available by the bottle and in flights.

The new Bareburger location is starting demolition on the site at 4560 N. High St. in Clintonville. The new building will house the restaurant – the second Bareburger in central Ohio – on the main floor and eight apartments above it. It is slated to open sometime spring of 2016.

The new Polaris Bar Louie is now open at 1611 Polaris Parkway, former site of Fisherman's Wharf.

Catie Randazzo of Challah food truck will appear on Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen at 10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23.
