Former bandmates and longtime collaborators Philip Kim and Adam Elliott were invited to do a month-long exhibition at Wild Goose Creative following their successful #WildArtColumbus social media takeover.

"I don't really do typical art, I'm more of a writer," Kim said, adding that he invited Elliott, who had designed all the fliers and postcards for when they did music together, to partner with him on the social media initiative.

"Even those things weren't meant to be displayed in a traditional sense," Kim said.

"They posted 4 or 5 pieces that day and it seemed like they had a really cool thing going. So I told them, 'You should just make it into a full show,'" Wild Goose creative curator Heather Kyle said.

Obscure Dialectics: A Collaboration of Text & Texture features mixed-media works on paper – creative collages created by Elliott coupled with poetry and other text from Kim. Kim said the pair created 20-plus new works for the exhibition.

The daylong performance art companion event, called Performative Flatteries: A Performance Art Cover Show, features performative interpretations of performance art, poetry, dance, theater, comedy and music from friends and colleagues of the artists. Fair warning: Some of the performance art works are expected to be a bit, erm, personal.

Obscure Dialectics: A Collaboration of Text and Texture will remain on view throughout November.
