Dolly is the flirty, ditzy one. Dorothy is the nerdy, dorky one. And Dixie is the leader, the lounge veteran who makes them go. They're Shadowbox Live's Santa Babies.

Dolly is the flirty, ditzy one. Dorothy is the nerdy, dorky one. And Dixie is the leader, the lounge veteran who makes them go.

They're Shadowbox Live's Santa Babies ("Stronger than ever with their skirt-flipping, joke-telling antics coupled with tight, Andrews Sisters harmonies," said executive director of community relations Stacie Boord, who also happens to be the aforementioned Dolly), and they're marking the 24th annual Holiday Hoopla, a sketch comedy-and-rock 'n' roll show fit for the season, which Boord described as "edgier than most holiday offerings but more tame than some of our other productions presented throughout the year."

Other skits include "Some Assembly Required" and "Office Secret Santa." House band tuneage will feature The Kinks' "Father Christmas" and MxPx's "Christmas Party."

The show runs select dates, primarily Tuesday through Saturday, through Jan. 3. For an abbreviated daytime version, try the 45-minute Holiday Lunchbox, presented select weekdays through Dec. 23.

And finally, Shadowbox tops off the holiday season with "Scrooge: The Musical," presented Saturdays and Sundays Nov. 29 through Dec. 27. This adaptation of the classic Dickens tale maintains a fine balance between edgy and heartwarming.
