Owner and chef Matthew Litzinger opened his new concept, Homefare Kitchen & Cocktails, in the space of his previous restaurant L'Antibes. The new eatery strays away from L'Antibes' French cuisine and focuses instead on casual fare like flatbread pizzas, pork chops and fried chicken.

Fukuryu Ramen, a fast casual ramen restaurant based in Melbourne, Australia, will open its first U.S. location in Columbus in January 2016. The ramen shop will open at 1600 W. Lane Ave. in Upper Arlington. It is partly owned by Jeff Tsao of the Tsao family who owned the Kahiki restaurant in Columbus and currently runs Kahiki Foods, Inc.

Middle West Spirits released a new spirit, OYO Pumpernickel Rye Whiskey. The new offering coincides with the seasonal release of OYO Oloroso Wheat Whiskey and bourbon barrel-aged maple syrup.

Watershed Distillery also released a specialty spirit, Nocino. Nocino is a liqueur made with unripe black walnuts.

Smokehouse Brewing is releasing bottles of their "ess" sour beer on Thursday, Dec. 3. The beer is a blend of two Smokehouse brews that have been aging two years in barrels with various yeast strains.

Chef Thomas Smith, most recently of the Worthington Inn, opened his new pizzeria Don Tomasso's Pizza at 1167 E. Wyandot St. in Upper Sandusky this week.
