Columbus, you have Dana Cox to thank for bringing the coastal sober-rave trend here with Wild Goose Creative's monthly Wake & Shake party. Show up at 6 a.m. ready to sip smoothies and work up some energy on the dance floor - and say hello to Cox, the party's host. Other days, you'll find her working at the Short North Alliance, promoting the Short North Arts District.

Show up at 6 a.m. ready to sip smoothies and work up some energy on the dance floor - and say hello to Cox, the party's host. Other days, you'll find her working at the Short North Alliance, promoting the Short North Arts District. Other things she loves: Yoga pants, naps and binge-watching TV. And these six other things:

"The Art of Asking" by Amanda Palmer

This book is a life-changer. Amanda Palmer is an inspiration. I've been creative all my life, but I never called myself an artist, and why not? I make art. Lots of people make art. That makes you an artist. Point blank.

Seventh Son Brewery's Oubilette

I'm definitely a big beer person, but finding stouts that I like is quite new. This imperial stout hasa nice round flavor that hints at coffee and dark chocolate, with enough hops to make it interesting. I'm a Seventh Son fangirl in general, and I'm always trying to bring out-of-towners in for a visit.

Cheap sunglasses

I collect them. I've got good-quality pairs of sunglasses, but I always come back to my fun-colored cheapies. I don't have to care too much about scratching or dropping them, and I can change them with the color of my hair. My favorites are the mint-colored pair that's Bell's Oberon-branded.

The corner of West Fourth and High

There's something I love about this stone building. It's got a bus stop, crosswalk and a few restaurants close by, so the people around it change quite frequently. I'm often out for Gallery Hop taking photos for work, and I always find myself snapping a photo there. In this one, I love how these two women, one with violet hair and both dressed in black and gray, just click visually for mewith the grays in the stone facade.

Yoga on High

This year I'm training to become a yoga teacher, and it has changed my practice entirely. I credit a lot of that growth to the teachers at Yoga on High, who have all given me something to work on. The studio encourages a full practice, discussing anatomy, alignment, meditation and movement in very accessible ways. If you haven't already, you need to try out a class there.

16-Bit Bar + Arcade

This is no Columbus secret, but 16-Bit is a great night out. Anytime my fiance and I have a spare night, you can find us in there playing our favorite video games (and for him, pinball). Tapper and Area 51 are on my must-play list. Some of our engagement photos were even taken there.
