Hawke Trackler films stuff.

Artists at work, weddings, business openings, tattoo artists, skateboarding, music videos - Trackler has filmed it.

The local independent filmmaker and artist (Trackler also does painting and photography) will screen some of his latest work at The Creative Plug on Jan. 30.

"I started doing videos as a way to stay out of trouble in high school," Trackler said. "I realized I was kind of good at it. I was skating, too, and I developed these videos I was taking of certain skateboarding tricks into films for skateboarding companies."

Since returning to Columbus after attending the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Trackler has been "filming everything."

Trackler has a standing informal relationship with The Creative Plug, which he says is a great venue for the kind of informal screenings he likes to host.

"It's a really relaxed, fun environment, laid-back," he said. "It's just me showing random videos and edits I've made recently."

Trackler expects Movie Night 2 to include a piece on tattoo artist Dino Nemec, various street art and the premiere of what he called "The Googly Eyed Bandit."
