Hilary Buchanan and Megan Leigh Barnard are cofounders of Creative Babes - a group the two came up with over good conversation and Manhattans in August of 2014 with one goal in mind: to bring creative women in Columbus together in a super laid back, real way. Passionate about authenticity, vulnerability, and just having a really good time, the duo are always looking for creative ways to empower and support women in the city. When not totally geeking out about everything Creative Babes, Hilary works as an art director for Pixel Park, and Megan Leigh, as a photographer. Here are a few things they love.

The Martinez at Angry Bear Kitchen

Traditionally, we're whiskey drinkers, but we ordered the Martinez off of Angry Bear Kitchen's new winter cocktail menu last week. It's insane. Made with Watershed Bourbon Barrel Gin, it's supa smooth. The perfect accompaniment to what always turns into a Babes conversation.

Hounds

Hilary just read about this bloodhound that accidentally ran a half marathon. Seriously. He came in 7th place. She also has a rescue pup named Buddy at home, and he's part beagle, part pug. So naturally, she can't get enough hounds in her life.

Rambling House

With both of us living super close to this spot, it's a place we frequent often to connect, watch music, and relax. It's got TONS of charm and honestly feels pretty magical. Hil always says it feels like you've time traveled when you're at Rambling House. Shameless plug, our next Creative Babes event will be held at Rambling House on Feb. 23rd. It's gonna be something special.

House Plants

Megan recently bought LOADS of fresh, green house plants for her new apartment in Clintonville. They really bring the space to life, and give her a dose of the outside - something she has always been completely in love with.

The Killer Creative Women in Columbus

It's pretty unreal how many talented, driven, insanely creative women live in this city. Just a few days ago we learned about a few women in Columbus (the co-founders of UNCHAINED) who are launching an ethical clothing line called Novel. It fights human trafficking by offering dignified jobs to survivors, the homeless, and refugees, helping reduce the demand for exploitive labor. How incredible is that? We can't get enough of the women around here. We love putting them in a room together, learning from them, and doing whatever we can to make sure everyone else knows how rad they are, too.
