New movie releases for the weekend of March 17
"Miracles from Heaven"
This faith-based drama stars Jennifer Garner as the mother of a young girl with a rare, incurable disease. Miracles ensue.

Sci-Fi Sleepover at the Gateway Film Center
GFC's inaugural event is like an entry-level version of the (unaffiliated) 24-Hour Sci-Fi Marathon, screening four films back-to-back at midnight, including a 70mm presentation of "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan." It kicks off at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, March 19.
"Science on the Screen: Children of Men"
If you can't pull the all-nighter on Saturday, the Gateway Film Center is pairing Alfonso Cuaron's brilliant "Children of Men" with an expert discussion on population control. This may be the best film of the past two decades, so a chance to see it on the big screen shouldn't be missed.

"10 Cloverfield Lane"
Speaking of "shouldn't be missed," this fantastically twisty little potboiler plays like a great "Twilight Zone" episode. I'm down for more of this planned anthology in the "Cloverfield" universe.
