New in theaters for the weekend of April 28
New in theaters:
The comic team behind "Key and Peele" (Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele) hits the big screen in a comedy about an epic search for a stolen kitty. Screened too late for deadline, but looks hilarious.
A punk band witnesses a murder and is thrown into a fight for survival in directorJeremy Saulnier's follow-up to his magnificent low-budget "Blue Ruin." That makes this my most anticipated new release of the week.
Garry Marshall continues his shameless assault on all the greeting-card holidays. It starsJennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Julia Roberts, and makes for a really lazy pick for your present for Mom, whom you should call.
"Ratchet & Clank"
The history of movies based on video games is littered with terrible, terrible movies, but this one is promising, with a wit and wonder that should translate nicely.
