Otterbein Summer Theatre presents the world premiere of a play by 2014 Otterbein alum Sean Murphy. "Invention of Theater" is the full-length version of a short play written and produced while Murphy, now a New York City-based actor/writer, was a student; Department of Theatre and Dance chair John Stefano said the play was "one of the funniest things we had seen in many years." The comedy pokes fun at theatrical conventions from Shakespeare to Mamet and explores the deeper relationship of theater to human nature.
