This horribly named New York band draws inspiration from vintage power-pop acts like the Raspberries and heartland rock in the vein of John Mellencamp. New album High Beams, which Almost Ready Records released on June 17, was produced by Mitch Easter (R.E.M., Game Theory) but sounds awfully thin and watered down for a band that strives for anthemic hooks. Hopefully the live version of 1-800-Band hits harder. Local opener the Girls! is a safe bet if you arrive early for this show. (Fans only)
