I'm originally from the Philo/Zanesville area. Eight years in the radio biz (way too many stories there), eventually led me to 22 years in the travel biz. For 27 of those years I've operated as Doo Dah Parade DisOrganizer Mz. Doo Dah, also serving as ChairChick and Queen of the Parade for the last 23 years. You could say I have a PhD. in DooDahology. Join me at the corner of High Street and Buttles Avenue for the annual Doo Dah Parade, which kicks off at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 4. Visit facebook.com/DooDahParade for more information. Here are a few things I love.

My husband, Charlie Loutzenhiser and my entire family and my friends

This needs no explaining.

Doo Dah Parade

Because I too am a little outspoken with a twist of humor. But it's not just that. It's also the people who attend and the sound of their laughter, which is very contagious. My "no water" policy was the first thing I instituted because it was ruining people's art. Now with the stupidity of the water gone, the Doo Dah Parade really is a piece of art.

Columbus

There's just a ton of things to do in this city. And free too! Charlie and I love to picnic on the new riverfront where we can listen to live music from the park and look at water and the beautiful Downtown architecture. We have such a great city, but how cool is it that we're also the capital of Ohio?!

Boon doggin' in the golf cart

This could easily fall under all of the above because I get to do this with my hubby and our two dogs. We pick up friends (and strangers that turn into friends), stop along the curb and chat with passersby. Or maybe we'll pick up trash during neighborhood clean-ups, tote junk for events, help get lost "tourists" to their cars or even just catch some rays. It's all good.

Double entendre

I think simple things in life are the best.
