Art & craft show founder talks scarves and skylines

Becki Silvertsein founded the Avant-Garde Art & Craft Shows in 2011. The show hosts nearly 100 vendors four times a year in the Columbus area. With 17 shows in the Midwest region in total, Avant-Garde not only supports the local handmade movement, but also donates a portion from every event to a local charity to keep money in the communities they are hosted in.

The next event is set for March 25 at the Makoy Center in Hilliard. A portion of proceeds will benefit Hope Hollow, a husband-and-wife-owned non-profit that provides lodging for friends and families undergoing cancer treatments at area hospitals. Visit avantgardeshows.com for more information.

Here are a few participating vendors Silverstein loves.

Each is brightly colored, and there are so many themes to choose from! They also have other delightful items like funky home decor and colorful dishtowels.

W Designs

One of our newest obsessions is string art! We love all the fun designs that can be made using this technique. With bright colors and custom designs that include photos or sayings, string art is a great twist on wall art. W Designs takes custom orders, too.
