Two local bands of recent Columbus past reconvene for one night

In a throwback lineup recalling a anniversary show, two pop-minded rock bands that were slugging it out in Columbus a decade ago are reuniting for a co-headlining show. Ghost Shirt is led by Joe Peppercorn-esque songwriting savant Branden Barnett, who now lives in Florida. The band is responsible for one of my favorite Columbus music experiences: Watching Ghost Shirt play its fantastic Daniel album from front to back while all of Kobo sang along.

Miranda Sound reunion shows occur a bit more frequently but are no less special. Co-fronted by Billy Peake of Bicentennial Bear and Dan Gerken, who left Columbus to attend law school but returned home and formed new band Face, Miranda Sound rock shows are similarly communal events, packed with fans eagerly awaiting the moment Gerken begins singing through his guitar pickups.

If you're new to Columbus and never got to see these bands in action, this is your chance. Don't sleep on it.
