The latest updates from the bar and restaurant scenes

Ye's Asian Vegan Kitchen opened this week at 2469 Hilliard Rome Rd. in Hilliard. The new pan-Asian vegan restaurant from the owners of Ye Asian Bistro serves dishes like tempeh satay, Malaysian coconut curry, pad thai and General Tso's.

The Market Italian Village announced new hours and a new menu approach this week. Expanding upon executive chef Tyler Minnis' “No Menu Mondays” concept, the restaurant will be open only in the evenings going forward and will feature a rotating menu. The Market's deli, bottle shop and bar will open at 3 p.m. weekdays, with the kitchen opening at 5 p.m. The restaurant from A&R Creative Group will continue its brunch service on weekends from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Veritas is switching to a tasting menu-only restaurant starting Tuesday, Sept. 25. Located at 11 W. Gay St., chef Josh Dalton's modernist restaurant will serve dinner only Tuesday through Saturday with the choice of two tasting menus: five courses for $55 to $65 or eight to 12 courses for $80 to $110. A la carte dishes will still be available at the downstairs bar.

Dine Originals Week, a seven-day celebration of local restaurants, is taking place now through Sunday, Sept. 23. Diners can enjoy prix-fixe menus at participating independent restaurants ranging from Katzinger's Delicatessen to The Worthington Inn. Visit for more information.

Hai Poke celebrates the one-year anniversary of its Short North brick-and-mortar location from 1- 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. The celebration will feature yoga on the patio, live music and a pop-up flea market. The poke spot from founders Mico Cordero and Nile Woodson is located at 647 N. High St.

Soul at The Joseph is hosting an inaugural Fall Cocktail Competition featuring area bartenders and spirits from Watershed Distillery and Campari. The competition will take place 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph in the Short North. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
