Former Bauhaus frontman celebrates the band's 40th anniversary (presumably in the dark while dressed in black)

Peter Murphy, formerly of Bauhaus, specializes in the kind of bleak, dark music favored by people who land on Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' “The Ship Song” as a first-dance wedding tune. “Twilight, twilight,” Murphy intones on “Cascade,” as if ushering in the darkness. Expect a heavy dose of Gothic balladry and cryptic spoken-word poetry, as well as songs drawn from the frontman's time in Bauhaus, as the tour, which also features founding bassist David J, marks the band's 40th anniversary.
