Cleaner than first-world hospitals,
She can make something out of nothing
and often does

She knows from birth that
love is cruel
And still, she craves it

She knows that the world is dirty

But she has the fervid passion of
an adulterous kiss

And she knows that life is
about living

Even when Death is a casual neighbor
Who steals from the mango tree
When all he has to do
is ask
