The Stonewall staffers share some of their favorite things ahead of the city's Trans Pride March.

For the past year and a half, Briden Cole Schueren has served on the Stonewall board with the intent of bringing awareness of the trans and gender nonconforming community. When he is not volunteering, he is running a gallery/studio work space in Grandview called BrickBox Studios, where he creates his artwork. He uses his art as a form of activism, to bring an image to the cause. He dedicates his energy to telling his story to help those who struggle with theirs.

Stonewall Pride Coordinator Sabrina Boykin is from a very small town in Northwest Ohio where being different was challenged. “A lot has changed in that short time, but we aren't done,” Boykin said. “We march to be visible and to support those in our community who aren't able to safely live their authentic truth.”

Here are some things they love.

Nina West (Andrew Levitt)
I am OBSESSED with all things Nina West, but mainly Andrew's charity. It is fundraising at an insane rate, and I think it is just so amazing that he is able to pull this attention to these causes. If you know Andrew you know how genuine and how loving he is, and I am just so proud of him. – SB

I've recently started to take a really deep dive into rainbow history, and it is just fascinating. We, as a community, should really be thinking about and learning as much as we can about who we are, where we come from and what it took to get us here. – SB

I just think cars are so interesting. I am truly obsessed with two right now: the Honda S2000, because I just don't understand how it still looks so sharp, but my god does it. And the second is the new Ford Mustang 350GT. It's just a beautiful machine. – SB

Preparing for the Trans Pride March
[We have] a handmade, GIANT trans flag, made by my friend Ryan Richmond. We could not find a trans flag big enough to our satisfaction, so we went to Joann Fabrics to get 50-plus yards of fabric, and he went to town.

I love the support I have been receiving from the community, wanting to make this a successful march. Nina West has been promoting it through her social media platforms, and Virginia West announced it during her Best of Axis show this past weekend.

I love that I am actually trying to figure out my outfit for this weekend-long celebration; usually I show up half naked and let my friends throw glitter on me. – BCS
