Join the Columbus Museum for a night of 'Blacklight Magic'
What’s old is new again. The colorful, psychedelic blacklight posters of the '60s and '70s have made a return — at least at the Columbus Museum’s “Blacklight Magic” exhibition, featuring works from the collection of Daniel Donahue. From racial equality to women’s reproductive rights, the issues addressed by blacklight posters are still top-of-mind in 2019.
Both the blacklight aesthetic and its social significance have informed this summer’s “Think Like an Artist Thursdays” by Creative Control Fest. This Thursday, July 11, artist Sylvie Matisse will guide participants in screen printing Columbus tote bags with DayGlo inks. Centered on the theme of “community,” the event will also feature DJ Krate Digga.
