Portia's Diner, the sibling restaurant to Portia's Café, opened last week at 3269 N. High St., formerly home to Whole World Natural Restaurant & Bakery. The new diner from owner Portia Yiamouyiannis serves 100 percent vegan fare, such as breakfast burritos, French toast, burgers and grilled “cheeze” sandwiches. Hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
Grandview’s Endeavor Brewing Co. (909 W. Fifth Ave.) is rebranding as Endeavor Brewing & Spirits, Central Ohio’s first combined craft brewery and distillery. Owner and co-founder Scott Talmage says a distillery has been in the works since the brewery launched in 2017. Endeavor plans to release vodka, rum and two gin varietals in early 2020, and aged spirits such as whiskey will follow.
As we reported previously, the plant-based eatery Village Taco is coming soon to the former Hal & Al’s space on the South Side. To help the business’ final push to opening day, the owners are hosting a preview and fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 1297 Parsons Ave. Village Taco currently serves vegan tacos, enchiladas, burritos and more from a small space at 7 E. Fay’s Crepes is now open in the Polaris Fashion Place food court (1500 Polaris Pkwy.). The new, locally owned food stall serves “crepe cones” filled with a variety of toppings such as fruit, candy, Nutella and more.
Belly Burger, a new burger-and-fries venture, opened last week at 26 N. High St., replacing Oliver’s. The casual restaurant and bar also offers boozy milkshakes and slushies.
