Cameron Granger brings a dormant fundraising method into the COVID era with a killer lineup

In a throwback to an old fundraising form (with a modern, COVID-era twist), artist and filmmaker Cameron Granger has created an online variety show to raise money for groups on the front lines of the recent protests.

The website sums it up this way: "The Get Free Telethon is a 24-hour livestream consisting of performances, readings, film screenings, cooking & discussion, done in an effort to pull together donations for Black Queer & Intersectional Collective, Healing Broken Circles, and Columbus Freedom Coalition. We believe that none of us are free till we’re all free, and we want to support the groups working to make that freedom a reality."

Running from 2 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, July 11) until 2 p.m. Sunday, the Get Free Telethon will feature performances from Dominique Larue, Renee Dion, Joey Aich, OG Vern, Dom Deshawn, Sarob, Satele and lots more. RSVP at the Get Free website.
