Antiques on High, the much-anticipated sour and wild ale brewery and taproom from Seventh Son Brewing Co., opened on Monday, Nov. 19, at 714 S. High St. in the Brewery District. AOH also features a cocktail menu by none other than Travis Owens, founder of the now-closed Curio cocktail bar and Behind the Glass Consulting.
Ambrose & Eve, located next door to Antiques on High at 716 S. High St., is scheduled to open on Tuesday, Nov. 27. The restaurant is a joint venture between chefs Catie Randazzo and Matthew Heaggans.
The Citizens Trust (11 W. Gay St.) will be decked out for the holidays when the Downtown bar hosts “Miracle on Gay Street” Nov. 23 through Dec. 31. Founded in New York’s East Village in 2014, Miracle is a Christmas-themed cocktail bar that pops up across the U.S. (and in a handful of international bars). You can take in The Citizens Trust’s uber-kitschy Christmas decor and taste holiday-themed cocktails Wednesday through Saturday for the duration of the pop-up. Cincinnati's The Overlook Lodge and Cleveland’s The Spotted Owl are the only other bars in Ohio hosting Miracle pop-ups. Visit miraclepopup.com for more information.
Barroluco Argentine Comfort Food opened at 47 N. Pearl St. on Monday, a little over a week after Arepazo vacated the space. The Downtown lunch spot will be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Olentangy River Brewing Co. opened last weekend at 303 Green Meadows Dr., making it the first brewery in Lewis Center.The new taproom also features a coffee bar operated by Kenny Sipes’ Roosevelt Coffee Roasters. The partnership means fresh-brewed coffee and espresso will be served daily starting at 7 a.m.
After several renovation-related delays, Belgian Iron Wafel Co. announced it is targeting an early January opening in the Short North. Located at 19 W. Russell St., the new spot promises authentic Liege-style waffles (as opposed to Brussels-style waffles) in both savory and sweet variations. Named after the city in eastern Belgium, Liege waffles are known for their caramelized exterior.
10 West Cafe is now open inside the US Bank building at 10 W. Broad St., formerly Cafe Lola. The new eatery will serve breakfast, lunch and coffee, plus desserts from The Suisse Shop near Polaris.
Arirang Korean Food Court, located inside Arirang Oriental Market, will close permanently starting Wednesday, Nov. 21. The Asian grocery at 1526 Bethel Rd. will remain open.
