Another week, another new Central Ohio brewery

We’re saying it once again: Say hello to Central Ohio’s newest brewery!

Olentangy River Brewing Company cut the ribbon and opened its doors Saturday, Nov. 17, debuting to a packed crowd and giving Lewis Center its very first brewery.

The brewery held an invite-only opening Friday for investors and Kickstarter backers, and then welcomed the general public for special hours Saturday and Sunday. Going forward, the brewery hours will be 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 7 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays.

The 7 a.m. opening comes about through a partnership with Roosevelt Coffeehouse. The coffee shop and roaster has launched a co-branded space in the brewery, offering full coffee service.

The brewery has also made space for food trucks to park out front; the upcoming rotation includes Queen’s Table, Sophie’s Pierogis, Greek Village on the Go and Sweet T’s Southern Style.

The grand opening included a roster of 10 Olentangy River Brewing beers on tap, including the Alum Creek Beach blonde ale, Sofia Ohioriccan West Coast IPA, Arrowhead double IPA and I Can’t Feel My Pants Russian imperial stout.

The brewery makes its home in a repurposed 1980s office and warehouse building. The taproom tops out at 3,500 square feet; while the 10-barrel brewhouse takes up an additional 7,000 square feet.

“Our hope is that people will immediately feel welcomed when they walk in our doors, in addition to loving our beer and coffee,” said co-owner Ryan Wilkins in a press release. “Whether they are stopping in for a coffee on their way to work in the morning, enjoying our craft beer as a happy hour with their co-workers or celebrating with their friends, we believe our taproom will be a place that anyone can call home.”
