The latest updates from the bar and restaurant scenes

Pierogi Mountain announced on social media this week that it's expanding into German Village. Founder Matthew Majesky is collaborating with the folks behind the new co-working space/restaurant and bar that once housed the original Max and Erma's at 739 S. Third St. Never fear: Pierogi Mountain's original location inside Cafe Bourbon Street is sticking around.

Japanese Oriental Restaurant has reopened its original location at 2283 N. High St. in Old North after closing in the summer of 2017. Since closing, the owners have opened a sister restaurant, Bonsai, at 3108 Kingsdale Center in Upper Arlington.

Brassica will hold the grand opening of its Upper Arlington location on Friday, Jan. 18. The fast-casual spot serving Eastern Mediterranean-inspired sandwiches and salads is located at 1442 W. Lane Ave. The newest Brassica makes three total, joining its flagship location in the Short North and a Bexley restaurant, which opened last summer.

Preston's: A Burger Joint is no longer serving out of Eugene's Canteen in the Short North, citing troubles with the kitchen's ventilation system. In the meantime, Da Levee will return to the kitchen as a popup. The Preston's food truck will continue to serve the Short North (and elsewhere); meanwhile, Preston's fans can get their burger fix at Woodland's Backyard and Woodlands Tavern in Grandview.

Granville Brewing Co., which launched in 2011, recently opened its taproom to the public at 5371 Columbus Rd., just outside of Granville. The brewery and taproom are located in a renovated horse barn on a small farm about 30 minutes from Columbus.

ThisWeek Community News reports that CAM International Market plans to expand into an adjacent Mill Run building in Hilliard. The grocery at 3767 Park Mill Run Dr. will add more than 21,000 square feet of space that will house three Asian-themed restaurants, offices and other retail businesses.

Silk Road Asian Cuisine is now open at 5963 S. Sunbury Rd. in Westerville. The new spot serving pan-Asian fare joins a sister location at 6441 Pullman Dr. in Lewis Center.
